Now, with nothing but her dry carrot sticks to focus on, Celeste had no choice but to pay attention to everything. She noticed Lively’s matching barrettes and earrings, the way she tossed her curly blonde hair at Mark Cutter during pre-algebra, the too-perfect shape of her boobs through her shirt, and especially the way she crossed her eyes and made the “moo” noise when Celeste walked by.
